Our well known innovative nonprofit client in Arlington, VA is searching for a Membership Program Manager. Our client is an innovative and dynamic professional association within the public health arena who offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits.

Membership Program Manager

The Membership Program Manager executes key member engagement programs such as State and Regional Affiliates, Society Awards, interest groups, and other volunteer opportunities. The Program Manager also ensures high levels of customer service for members provided by staff across our communications channels, including phone, email, and social media.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Manage and execute the state and regional affiliates program, helping groups get connected and stay up to date with our client through guest speakers, discussion forums and other outreach efforts
  • Supervise the Membership Assistant & overall member customer service
  • Lead efforts to capture and maintain data on medical professionals working in to support the organization’s market share strategy for membership
  • Manage and execute membership recruitment activities and gauge their effectiveness through data collection and analysis on marketing campaigns
  • Oversee Awards program and manage staff and contractors responsible for execution of the program
  • Collaborate with staff across the organization by managing member volunteer engagement and expanding the number and variety of volunteer opportunities
  • Manage the online merchandise shop and work with marketing and communications manager on promotions and expand store offerings by working with other departments
  • Oversee two annual career fairs in promotional efforts to members and contractors responsible for execution of the program
  • Collaborate with Director of Membership and Brand and Coordinator to support the Fellow recognition program
  • Collaborate with social media staff and meetings team to coordinate customer service tactics
  • Manage member services at conference registration
  • Support relationship with a merchandise vendor
  • Support annual leadership elections process
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field
  • Minimum of five years of related experience with a membership organization
  • Experience managing a program or organizational functional area
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt new trends into existing programs

Required Skills

  • Excellent teamwork and project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service in a professional and polite manner
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities with urgent deadlines
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Fonteva, as well as Microsoft Office products preferred
