Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Events Director to join its team. The role of this individual will be to own, develop, implement, and manage an event portfolio designed to meet the client’s key audiences’ needs.

The Events Director will coordinate all the external and internal events, working within the Product, Marketing & Communications teams. Throughout the year, their team organizes events both in person and virtually. These events vary from workshops and virtual events to their tradeshow. You will be responsible for all events-related activities as the key project manager. In your annual event portfolio, you will oversee multiple events simultaneously, driving each event smoothly to completion while leading internal and external teams.

Note: This is a hybrid position and seeking applicants in the DMV area

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversees all events for the company, requiring advanced meeting planning and live event planning expertise, as well as hands-on experience with virtual event best practices and online webinar platforms
  • Developing, managing, and maintaining project plans, and critical paths
  • Prepare, manage, and reconcile budgets
  • Coordinate smoothly with internal stakeholders and third parties
  • Work with suppliers and vendors
  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and make decisions
  • Support the department with general administrative duties
  • Develop event requirements including booth graphic materials and booth displays, as well as marketing materials, promotions, and advertising campaigns, in collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Execute all aspects of each event
  • Undertake any other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Seven to ten years of experience in conference and event management
  • Ability to think critically and anticipate needs
  • Ability to take the initiative, demonstrate follow-through, and solve problems in a solutions-oriented manner
  • Knowing when to escalate concerns to the appropriate level of leadership based on risk evaluation
  • Experience working independently on several projects simultaneously, under tight deadlines, and in hybrid and virtual environments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Understanding how to use online events and registration platforms
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends or travel nationally and internationally depending on event schedules
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
