Job Summary

Our thriving nonprofit client is seeking a motivated development professional to join their team as a Development Coordinator. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of funder relationships, conducting grant writing and grant administration, developing budgets, assisting in event planning, and providing support for other department activities as needed. This position will steward a portfolio of institutional funders, local and state government agencies, private foundations, corporate funders, and federal grants.

Education, Certifications, and Qualifications Required:

  • 1-2 years of prior experience fundraising in the non-profit sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree required or comparable experience.
  • Valid US Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Interest in working for a social justice organization within the immigrant rights movement.
  • Excellent writing skills is a must!
  • Highly organized and efficient, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, commitment to teamwork, high degree of personal initiative.
  • Successful experience prioritizing, managing multiple tasks efficiently, completing follow-up.
  • Experience w/developing grant proposals, writing grant narratives.
  • Detail oriented w/high expectations of quality work, ability to work efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent “people skills” w/proven track record of professionally engaging donors/partners.
  • Strong computer & technology skills required – MS Office, online database systems.
  • Support of organization’s mission, able to communicate value to donors.
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
