Job Summary

Our dynamic client is a unique nonprofit organization seeking a Data Architect who will set the client’s data strategy and build out a team to implement and support it. They will lead the charge in evolving the organization’s use of data and technology to support its mission, ensuring that client is executing the most efficient best practices. The role will involve both setting the strategic direction for the organization’s data management and hands-on data scrubbing. We’re looking for someone who can see the big picture and motivate others to action in order to enhance the organization’s operational efficiencies and is also enthusiastic about rolling up their sleeves and being actively involved in data-scrubbing initiatives..

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Partner with the client’s management team to translate the organization’s needs to design and develop tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization
  • Assess the organization’s current use of data and design/map strategic data flows to streamline connectivity, cultivate accessibility, foster increased organizational efficiency, and modernize IT assets
  • Develop the strategic vision for the client’s future data state supporting cross-platform data pipelines and integrations
  • Build out a team of internal employees and external consultants necessary to execute the strategy, with an emphasis on correcting user input errors that may have occurred during data capture, removing duplicate data, updating data that may be out-of-date, automating the organization’s data storage, and architecture and reconsolidating information once redesign of systems and processes is completed
  • Use Open Source/Digital technologies to mine data
  • Drive analysis that provides meaningful insight

Skills Required

  • Fluent in English
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or comparable field; or comparable professional certifications
  • 5-7 years experience assessing, developing, and maintaining data architectures and taxonomies
  • Understanding of and experience with Agile project management methodologies
  • Familiarity with cloud services, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
  • Strong experience with data in various forms (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data)
  • Familiarity with Zoho’s cloud-based CRM solutions (including Zoho analytics) is a plus
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to leverage analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities to tackle business problems
  • Demonstrated ability to explore and quickly grasp new technologies
  • Scripting experience in Python, R, Spark, and SQL
  • Working knowledge in open-source tools like OpenRefine or Trifacta Wrangler is a plus
  • Working knowledge of open-source data cataloging tools like Apache Atlas or LinkedIn Datahub that will help create a single catalog environment where all data of the client and its associated context can be accessed from.
