Membership Manager

Job Description

Our client is a fast-growing non-profit organization in the DC Metro area whose focus is on privacy matters concerning today’s emerging technologies. They are seeking a passionate membership professional to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the retention, engagement, and growth of the organization’s support base. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following

  • Design, produce and facilitate member engagement opportunities for corporate supporters both virtually and in person
  • Develop retention and engagement plans for all member types 
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential members
  • In conjunction with the Membership Associate, develop systems to track member engagement
  • Evaluate and assess the value of being a corporate supporter and develop new initiatives to increase support
  • Identify and manage procedures, processes and resources needed for member support activities
  • Supervise Membership Associate in managing day-to-day relationships as necessary

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7-10 years related work experience in member management and/or development in a non-profit organization, trade or membership association
  • Corporate membership management experience required
  • Event planning, meetings, etc. experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing department budgets and financials is a must
  • Experience in or familiarity with data privacy issues is highly desired
